The true pioneer of the industry, Microgaming has always been not only at the forefront in bringing innovations to iGaming but also in promoting corporate social responsibility.

Run for the seventh year in a row, the company’s 2019 Gift of Giving campaign has raised £30,000 to share this sum of money between six worldwide charities, totaling donations to £210,000.

£30,000ToKeep Doing Good

Part of the PlayItForward initiative launched by Microgaming in 2014, Gift of Giving is set with the idea to support communities and help people in all corners of the globe through various non-profit organizations.

In contrast to 2018…

…when a £30,000 donation was divided between four nominees, the 2019 campaign features six winners: Save the Children (United Kingdom), WaterAid (Africa), Foodbank Lifeline Foundation (Malta), Childline (Gibraltar), Unicef (Rest of the World), and GamCare as the leader in the freshly-introduced “responsible gambling“ category.

Traditionally, the winner in each category is decided by the votes given to a certain charity by numerous partners and operators of the Isle of Man giant, including online casinos. Commenting on the results, John Coleman, CEO of Microgaming, said:

“I’d like to thank all of our customers for their generous votes and for supporting our Gift of Giving initiative for the seventh year running. Involving the wider industry in CSR is important to us at Microgaming, which is why we included the new responsible gambling category – giving back is what we are all about. Well done to the winning charities in 2019’s campaign and we hope these donations will help you to keep doing what you do best.”

Changing Things For The Better

In their turn, grateful beneficiaries are delighted with the fact, their efforts to change things for the better have been recognized among the voters – members of the huge Microgaming’s network, which recently added BetGames.TV as one more content partner.

Catriona Parry, Corporate Partnerships Team at Unicef, which operates in more than 190 countries and territories, couldn’t hide emotions:

We’re hugely grateful to receive this gift from Microgaming, which will help Unicef to continue to reach the most vulnerable children around the world, and ensure every child has the chance to survive and thrive“.

Speaking of being the first winner in the brand-new responsible gaming category, Anna Hemmings CEO at GamCare said:

We’re grateful to Microgaming for naming us as beneficiary of the Gift of Giving campaign this year and this will contribute to our wider work in minimising gambling-related harm, helping us to reach the people who need us.“
