Truenorth.bet, an online sportsbook owned and operated by First Nations people from Canada, has launched officially after having set up the website in partnership with Pronet Gaming, a developer that offers solutions for online sportsbooks and casinos.

Under the terms of the agreement, Truenorth.bet will function on Pronet Gaming’s solid platform, offering players in Canada the possibility to place their bets on multiple sports events but also enjoy online casino games.

When it comes to sports wagering options, the website will have a strong Canadian influence, offering niche sports like lacrosse and Canadian boxing, along with sprint car racing. Most other online sportsbooks don’t offer odds on such events.

The launch comes after Truenorth.bet was given a full licence from the Kahnawake Gaming Commission, the regulatory body for the Mohawk Territory of Kahnawake in Canada. Moreover, betting on single sports events just became legal in Canada, after Parliament approved Bill C-218. Starting from August 27, 2021, Canadians can bet legally on single sports events.

The operator will have to maintain strict adherence to the regulatory framework. That will be facilitated by the features of the Pronet Gaming platform, which is in line with technical requirements regarding responsible gaming, data protection, anti-spam laws and self-exclusion policies.

Passion For The Project

Truenorth.bet issued a statement upon the website launch, in which the Canadian company praised Pronet Gaming for their “passion for the project”, along with the “quality and flexibility” of their sportsbook platform. In addition to that, the Canadian operator expressed its belief that it will be “in the driving seat” of the Canadian market.

Colin McDonagh, Chief Sales Officer at Pronet Gaming, added that Truenorth.bet “is well known for the quality of its offering and regulatory integrity” and expressed his delight at the way his company adapted to meet the regulatory challenges in Canada.

“We fought off stiff competition to secure the business,” Colin McDonagh added, revealing that the adaptability of the user interface ultimately proved pivotal in the Canadian company’s decision to choose Pronet Gaming.
