NorthStar Gaming, the Canadian casino operator based in Toronto, has announced that it is ready to launch NorthStar Bets, an online casino and sports betting brand that will operate on the expanding Canadian market.

NorthStar Gaming wants to identify its brand as a “made-in-Ontario” online casino and sportsbook, which is ready to take advantage of new opportunities as Ontario opened its gambling market to private operators. The Ontario market will officially open for licensed private operators on April 4.

The Toronto-based operator intends to offer its customers a “uniquely local” experience, which will include casino games alongside the sports betting action. Moreover, NorthStar Bets will also deliver sports betting insights and content on its platform.

Michael Moskowitz, Chief Executive Officer and Founding Partner of NorthStar Gaming, revealed that the NorthStar Bets brand “pays tribute” to the company’s local roots. “We take great pride in providing Ontarians with a hyperlocal gaming experience,” Moskowitz added.

At the same time, NorthStar Gaming has also announced that it signed an integrated content arrangement with Torstar Corporation. The deal will offer thestar.com readers the possibility to access sports betting and wagering content created by the NorthStar Bets content team.

New Partnership With Playtech

Last month, NorthStar Gaming announced that it signed an agreement with Playtech, one of the world’s biggest providers of slots and live dealer games for online casinos.

Under the terms of the agreement, Playtech provides NorthStar its iGaming and sports betting platform, including casino games, live casino titles, poker and bingo technology. Founded in 1999, Playtech offers a full range of live dealer games, including blackjack, roulette and baccarat.

NorthStar Gaming also announced that it is the exclusive Canadian partner of Playtech, hoping that this partnership will make them stand out from the competition on the Ontario market. Michael Moskowitz, Chief Executive Officer and founding partner of NorthStar Gaming, added that the “industry-leading suite of tools” provided by Playtech is expected to give the operator “an unmatched edge in the marketplace”.
