Strong Market Position

PlayLive! started to operate in August, becoming the first online gaming platform that was approved to go live before the corresponding physical venue was open. In Pennsylvania, all casinos are required to have a land-based presence to operate online gaming services.

The Cordish Companies, which operate PlayLive!, are in the process of opening land-based casinos in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, but the venues are still under construction. This is a U.S. company that deals in real estate development and entertainment, and it was founded all the way back in 1910.

NetEnt is a leading provider of online casino software and content. Their products are included in several casinos around the world. The company has over 700 employees across multiple offices located in Sweden, Gibraltar, Ukraine and Malta. Their games have also been available in Canada since 2018, through an agreement with International Game Technology and the British Columbia Lottery Corporation.

Earlier this year, NetEnt penned another agreement that boosted their presence in Pennsylvania, making their software available to tribal operator Wind Creek Casino. The company’s products first entered the Pennsylvania market last year.

Brian Uran, Vice President of Marketing at PlayLive!, added: “As one of the first suppliers to go-live in Pennsylvania, NetEnt’s portfolio is a must-have for any operator looking to compete in the online sector. Partnering with them was a priority for the launch of PlayLive!”.
