Evolution, the world’s most powerful supplier of live casino software and content, has made yet another acquisition as it agreed to purchase DigiWheel, a developer of innovative gaming wheels.

The deal was done for just 1.2 million United States dollars, which is just a pocket change for a company like Evolution, which had revenue of over 500 million dollars in the first half of the 2021 fiscal year.

The acquisition of DigiWheel was made with the intention of strengthening the company’s iGaming portfolio. The attractive fact about DigiWheel was its digital technology which will be merged into Evolution’s extensive portfolio of online live casino games and game shows. In fact, there are a lot of wheel-based games in that portfolio, and those will benefit from DigiWheel’s innovative technology.

The DigiWheel product is a unique, 360 degrees, fully rotating High-Definition gaming wheel that can operate as a live online game. The spinning wheel is a Full-HD screen that can run any money wheel or prize wheel game.

The DigiWheel brand will continue to exist within the Evolution Group, which also owns well-known brands in the industry like NetEnt, Red Tiger, Ezugi and Big Time Gaming. The deal to acquire DigiWheel will most likely be fully completed by the end of this year.

Creating Exciting Gaming Experiences

Martin Carlesund, the Chief Executive Officer of the Evolution Group, revealed that his company was impressed with the technology that DigiWheel has developed. Adding that technology to Evolution’s already successful wheel games should create “the most immersive and exciting gaming experiences available in online casinos,” the Chief Executive Officer added.

For John Purcell, the Chief Executive Officer of DigiWheel, the announcement of the acquisition deal brought “a great deal of satisfaction”. The DigiWheel CEO added that his team had been working for almost nine years to develop their “one-of-a-kind digital gaming innovation”.

Evolution is the biggest name in the industry when it comes to live casino content. The company has become a global powerhouse in iGaming overall after the recent acquisition of NetEnt, the well-known video slots provider. The company now employs over 4,000 people in various offices and studios located in several places around the world.

This year Evolution has also acquired Big Time Gaming, the Australian company that created the famous Megaways mechanic, which has been introduced into hundreds of video slots from the world’s biggest suppliers.
