Atlantic Lottery Corporation, the company that operates lottery games in Atlantic Canada, has announced the signing of a new content deal with NeoPollard Interactive, an award-winning supplier of iLottery solutions.

This is the first digital content partnership in North America for NeoPollard Interactive and it gives Atlantic Lottery Corporation the opportunity to access the supplier’s NeoGames Studio library of game content. NeoPollard Interactive currently provides iLottery technology platforms, digital game content, and its Power Suite of iLottery services to four lotteries in the United States and one Canadian lottery.

Atlantic Lottery Corporation offers a wide range of digital games on its online gaming platform, alc.ca, and it is the only iGaming operator that is licensed to provide such services in Atlantic Canada (New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador).

The most popular online games offered on alc.ca fall into the Instant Win category, and the partnership with NeoPollard Interactive will allow Atlantic Lottery Corporation to build upon the success of its website by adding market-proven digital games from NeoGames Studio to its offering.

Robert Lalonde, iGaming Manager at Atlantic Lottery Corporation, revealed that this partnership will allow his company to offer more competitive content in order to generate more revenue for the Atlantic Canada region.

Tough Times In 2020-2021 Fiscal Year

Atlantic Lottery Corporation had a pretty rough 2020-2021 fiscal year, it recorded decreasing revenue as its earnings took a hit due to the effects of the novel coronavirus pandemic. The Canadian provincial lottery saw its revenue drop by 11.9 percent to 635.6 million dollars.

This was the second year which saw its revenue affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Sean O’Connor, the Chairman of the Atlantic Lottery Corporation , admitted that the pandemic “heavily impacted the financial results” at the time.

The year started with lockdowns which kept most of the company’s businesses in the hospitality and horse-racing industry shut, while some of its retail locations were closed as well. The company’s overall net income was reduced from 395.4 million Canadian dollars in 2019-20 to just 346.5 million in 2020-21.

The company adapted to the situation and cut its expenses by 16.7 percent compared to the previous year. As a result, the Atlantic Lottery Corporation ended the fiscal year with a gross profit of 523.6 million Canadian dollars and a net profit of 346.6 million dollars.
