Aristocrat Leisure Limited, the Australian developer of slot machines for land-based casinos and digital games for online casinos, has announced the launch of a bespoke gambling floor for MGM Resorts.

The new gambling floor hosts 50 themed slot machines and it is located inside the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino, which is owned and operated by MGM Resorts International. The venue is located in the American state of Mississippi.

The floor which was designed by Aristocrat Gaming has a surface of 1,500 square feet and it was branded “The Buffalo Zone”, since it heavily features the Australian company’s successful games from the Buffalo series.

The 50 slot games designed by Aristocrat include hugely popular titles such as Buffalo Chief, Buffalo Max, Buffalo Gold, Buffalo Link, Buffalo Gold Revolution and Buffalo Grand.

Jon Hanlin, Senior Vice President of Commercial Strategy and Business Analytics at Aristocrat, pointed out that this is the second “Buffalo Zone” that the Australian company launches in Mississippi after having opened a similar casino gaming floor at the Gold Strike Casino Resort in Tunica.

The Beau Rivage Resort & Casino is based in South Mississippi and features 85,000 square feet of casino space along with 1,740 hotel rooms and a theater with 1,500 seats. Brandon Dardeau, the President and Chief Operating Officer of Beau Rivage, acknowledged that the Buffalo games are very popular among the player base and the special section should “further enhance the guests’ gaming experience.”

Real Money Gaming Business On The Way

Earlier this year, Aristocrat Leisure Limited announced its plans to launch a new business which would allow the company to enter the online real money gaming market.

The plan was announced by Trevor Croker, the Chief Executive Officer of Aristocrat, during the annual general meeting of the company. Croker explained that this would be the company’s third operating business, complementing Aristocrat Gaming, the slot machine division, and Pixel United, the social gaming business.

The online real money gaming brand will be led by Mitchell Bowen, the Chief Executive Officer of Aristocrat Gaming. Aristocrat is planning to invest significant amounts into building its own real-money gaming platform, and acquiring other businesses is one of the methods that the company is ready to use. In fact, the Australian company was ready to spend almost 3 billion dollars on the acquisition of Playtech, but the takeover bid was eventually rejected by the shareholders.
